The Illinois Podiatric Medical Association began its existence registered with the State of Illinois in 1915 as the Illinois Association of Chiropodists.  Always an organization designed to support Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPM's), or podiatrists, the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association (IPMA) has grown to be the hub for podiatric information, political action on podiatric health care issues, and a resource for both the doctors and the public.

The Illinois Podiatric Medical Association is committed to:

  • Maintaining high standards of podiatric medical practice and ethics
  • Enhancing public awareness about foot and ankle health
  • Ensuring the development of the profession of podiatric medicine
  • Ensuring the continued growth of the association and promoting the welfare of the profession
