Write to Your US Senators to Urge Them to Sign on to Letter Opposing CMS E/M ProposalsThe United States Senate is currently finalizing its letter to CMS expressing opposition to both the collapse of the E/M codes generally as well as to the proposal to create separate G-codes for podiatric physicians. We need all members to write your senators’ offices NOW to urge them to sign on if they have not already done so. Take two minutes and go to APMA’s eAdvocacy portal today! The Senate will finalize its letter and send it to CMS tomorrow (Friday, September 14), so it is critical to contact them today. Be sure to let your patients, staff, friends, and family know they can go to www.apma.org/eAdvocacy and advocate for podiatry.

E/M Proposed Rule Comment Period Closed—What Next?
APMA submitted formal comments to CMS on September 10 in response to its proposed rule for the 2019 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule. We are incredibly proud of our members' efforts to let CMS know its proposals related to separate E/M coding for DPMs are unacceptable. More than 6,200 members; 1,400 podiatry students; and 3,000 patients, family members, and friends sent comments and letters to CMS and Congress using APMA's eAdvocacy portal.
