Welcome to IPMA Online!

Did you know that podiatrists should play a critical role on your diabetes management team?  Podiatrists are trained to treat foot conditions that can be caused by diabetes such as peripheral neuropathy, infections  and ulcers.  Peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage that leads to a loss of feeling in the toes and fingers, can lead to much more serious problems.   If untreated, foot amputation is a real possibility.  Please seek the care of a podiatrist near you for an evaluation and recommended steps to minimize complications resulting from diabetes. Click here for a brief interview with our Dr. Sarah Dickey.

The Illinois Podiatric Medical Association is a non-profit organization representing a majority of the doctors of podiatric medicine in the State of Illinois. IPMA members comply with rigid ethical standards and participate in numerous programs and events that benefit patients, the profession and the community. When you select a podiatrist who is a member of the IPMA, you are assured of having chosen a skilled practitioner to care for your feet.

We have provided many useful resources on this website including information on diabetes that will be of interest to the general public, potential podiatric patients, non-member podiatrist, future podiatrists, exhibitors and sponsors, the media and of course our members.  Please use it in good health and take care of your feet!
